The trading strategy tester allows you to estimate the Expert
Advisor's financial results based on historical data. It works in the
following way: if it has been continuously operating for a certain period of time, you can see the complete
report of all deals made, from the time of the first bar in the graphs
on your terminal to the beginning of the testing period.
The results of strategy testing are provided in a statement
generated on historical data and in a graph of the balance change
that occurred as a result of the Expert Advisor's activity in the past.
There is also an option to see a detailed report that helps you
assess strategy effectiveness in general as well as
possibilities to earn profit, avoid certain potential
risks, and estimate the average of distribution.
Strategy testing, however, serves information purposes only. With the help
of the strategy tester you can optimize the trading system (Advisor)
parameters so that they show the best results with minimal
risk. The Tester contains elements of artificial intelligence as
parameters are set by applying genetic algorithms.
Spend a couple of hours trying out the strategy tester to make sure how effective it is
to use this particular Advisor in the future. It will help you avoid unjustified
risks.
