Trading Terminal

1 Can I add expert advisors to the terminal?

You can do this by copying the file to C:\Program Files\UWCTrader 4\experts (if you have not already selected another root when the terminal was being set up,) then restart the terminal. After this the advisor will appear in the navigator window on the advisor tab.

2 Where can I download an expert advisor, indicator or script from?

You can find many of advisors, indicators and scripts by clicking the following link: http://codebase.mql4.com.

3 Why is the New Order button inactive?

You probably logged in to your trading account with your investor password.

Use the trader password when you want to access your trading account and manage it (e.g. open/close/edit deals; withdraw money).

Use the investor password if you only want to view/check your account but not open/close/edit deals.

4 Why are the Sell and Buy buttons inactive?

You probably indicated an incorrect deal amount. Please check details here http://www.uwcfx.com/trading/account-types/index.html.

5 What is a trailing stop and how can I set it?

When you put in a trailing stop, for instance 20 points, the terminal does not do anything until the position shows a profit for 20 points (the set trailing stop value).

After this, the terminal places a stop-loss at an interval of 20 points from the current price (at the break-even level in this case). If the terminal receives a quotation, in which the interval between the current price and the stop-loss order placed exceeds 20 points, it sends a command to shift the stop order to an interval of 20 points from the current price.

This means that the stop-loss "follows" the current price at a distance of 20 points. Thus, a trailing stop is a kind of a stop-loss control algorithm moving toward profit following the price.

To set a trailing stop, you have to select the trailing stop setup command from the pop-up menu of an open position. Then you have to choose the required value of the interval between the stop-loss order level and the current price from the opened list. You can set one trailing stop for each open position.

The trailing stop is based on the client terminal, not the server (like a stop-loss or take-profit), so it only works if the terminal is turned on.

6 Why can’t I access my account? The message says Incorrect account.

The reasons may be that:

  • You are using an incorrect server while logging in to your account(s)
    • UWC-Demo.com for demo account;
    • UWC-Lite.com for LITEForex trading account only;
    • UWC-Real.com for MINIForex and REALForex trading accounts.
  • You may have entered the incorrect trader password or may be using the investor password incorrectly.
  • You haven’t used your account for a long time and it has been blocked or deleted. You should contact us through the Live Chat to find out the reason and unblock your account.

7 Why do I receive the error message saying No connection when I want to connect to my trading account?

The most possible reasons for this may be the following:

  • Your Internet connection got disrupted or the trading server is off;
  • Port 443 on your network is blocked and your PC connects to the Internet through a proxy server. This can happen if you use a corporate work station. Ask your system administrator for the proxy server address and the Internet access port, then type this data into the terminal settings. This how you do it: Service menu → SettingsServer → tick the box beside “enable proxy server” → click the button Proxy → enter proxy server address, the port, your login and password.
  • The firewall software on your PC may be blocking port 443. If this is the case, you should include MetaTrader.

Please contact our customer support via Live chat, or your local network administrator.

8 What time is shown on the terminal?

Server time on the terminal is GMT+2 and is displayed in the Market Overview window. You can’t change it, it is default time.

9 Why do I receive the message "The trading context is busy" when I want to perform trading operations?

This message pops up if a trading operation could not be performed. For instance, you send a new trading order before you receive the processed order you sent previously. This can be caused by a temporary disconnection with the trading server. The request gets queued up on the client terminal and the message will appear every time you try to perform an operation, until the previous operation is completed, or you reset your PC.

To clear the request queue, restart the terminal.

10 How do I add instruments to "Market watch"?

Right-click with your mouse on Market watch window and select Show all from the menu.
